Good Grief! How do we even know this is an Arab? He looks like a desert nomad to me. The race is placed in a desert, so how do we even know this is even in Arabia (or anywhere in the Middle East for that matter)? I could be in the western US for all we know... Grow some skin people.

I don't usually jump on these bandwagons, but I feel the need to offer my two cents here... While I'm not grossly overweight (5'-9" and about 170 lbs), I have decided that I want to be a bit healthier. As such, I've been going to the gym and trying to eat better.

It's really interesting that you bring up the stray dog reference. In many ways, gangs are no more than stray dogs. Both of these groups have pack-like tendancies and are just looking to survive. The dogs band together for protection and survival. In many ways, a gang is no different.

Instead of assuming that these assemblies were "wasted money," is it plausable that they were spares in the event of some sort of failure during launch? I can only imagine what it would take to manufacture new optical assemblies at the same spec as those that could be potentially lost at launch.
